Understanding this AI Grant

Cybersecure New Brunswick is a provincial programme that fully reimburses eligible costs up to $3,000 for projects that apply cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) in NB small and medium-sized businesses. It’s delivered through the CBDC network, with online applications and claims handled by your local CBDC.

The program is designed to:

  • Provide financial support to adopt cybersecurity measures and AI tools
  • Offer training and information sessions on the importance of cybersecurity and AI
  • Opportunity to work with digital experts like Oi Marketing
  • Encourage SMEs to work with local expertise and services to build safer, more efficient operations

are you ELIGIBLE?

Not every business qualifies, but if you meet these requirements, you can apply for the Cybersecure NB program. Keep in mind that only one grant is available per registered business.

  • Your business is registered and headquartered in New Brunswick
  • Is for-profit and earned at least $30,000 in annual revenue in your most recent tax year
  • You agree to maintain your cybersecurity or AI strategy for at least six months after participation
  • You consent to follow-up surveys, sharing program information with the Government of Canada
  • You consent to having your business name published as a funding recipient

who isINELIGIBLE?

The following types of small businesses are ineligible:

  • Corporate chains, franchises, and, licensed brands
  • Registered charities and not-for profit organizations
  • Representatives of multi-level marketing companies
  • Brokerage firms and their agents (real estate, investment, insurance, etc.)
  • Businesses engaging in online reselling or drop-shipping reliant third-party suppliers

how to apply

  1. Register:

    Confirm your eligibility.

  2. Fill Out the Form:

    Choose your local CBDC and create an account in its online portal.

  3. Get Approved:

    Approval takes 1-10 days. Once approved, we can start your project.

  4. Start Rolling:

    We’ve shown you the final product, pay our invoice and send it with our report to CBDC’s office. You’ll receive payment (minus tax) for the full amount in about three weeks.
